Neuroscience

The brain is one of the crucial parts of our body, and without the brain, we cannot live. Brain study is being more and more developed as countless people recognize the endless possibilities of the brain. The study of the brain is referred to as neuroscience. We will learn about different parts of the brain and how the brain is tested.

Neurons

Neurons are relatively big cells that are in the brain. They send information to one another via a synapse, where electrical signals are converted into chemical signals that the brain can use. There are three basic functions of a neuron: to receive signals, to communicate signals to other neurons, and to integrate incoming signals. The neuron’s body is called the soma, and it contains the nucleus. Short protrusions that extend from the soma are known as dendrites.

Gila

The Gila is also a part of the brain. There are three parts that compose the Gila: oligodendrocytes, microglia, and astrocytes. These three components optimize brain function. The oligodendrocytes speed up the electrical signals that travel down the neuron. The microglia detect damaged or unhealthy neurons. The astrocytes supply nutrients and digest parts of dead neurons.

The two most popular forms of brain imaging tests are PET and MRI. A PET scan measures the energy that is emitted from the brain when charged particles collide with one another. The color of each dot in the scan shows the intensity of every signal. An MRI detects changes in blood flow.

Nowadays, the AI industry is growing bigger and bigger. In fact, neuroscience takes a big part in understanding how the brain works and applying the knowledge to the AI. Thus, neuroscience is definitely an area of study that has infinite possibilities.
